Am I in mourning?
These friendships I once deemed for life
If there is one truth in this life
It is impermanence
I do not show you myself
In turn, you put me down for it
To open up and share all of one’s self
Is that the only way to truly connect?
What we see in others,
We can recognize in ourselves
Your selfishness is in me too
I am selfish to think you should
You should understand me
I feel like being away from all of you
Your abrupt decisions
Ones painted with the colors of fantasy
Their bright fake colors
Used to hid a crack in the wall
Resemble the colors of my own mask
Colorful, bright, unreal, cracking
I feel like being away from all of you
How can you be in my life too?
I do not have the answer
I do not know how to include you
Just like I do not know how to include
My fake colors and my selfish childish-ness.
